Tuck Privacy Policy

Tuck is a browser extension published by Brian Millonte. It saves links on your device and can remind you about them while you browse. This policy describes the Chrome and Microsoft Edge extension and its optional Jev features.

What stays on your device

Your Tuck library is stored in your browser on your device. A saved item can contain its original URL, title, site, description, a short excerpt of visible page text, a preview image URL, its type and status, and dates related to saving and reminders. Tuck also stores a random installation identifier, settings, per-site sensitive-page choices, and reminder limits in extension-local storage. There is no Tuck account or cloud library sync.

The Tuck buttons appear on HTTP and HTTPS pages. Once per visible page visit, Tuck checks that page's URL and title against your local library so it can remind you about the page you already saved. This check stays on your device. Tuck reads page details for a new save only after you click Save. It does not collect passwords, form values, cookies, message bodies, or the complete page body for Jev.

You can delete individual saved items, export a JSON backup, and import a backup in the library. Exported backup files are stored wherever you save them and are your responsibility to protect. Removing the extension stops it from accessing pages. Backups you exported remain until you delete them.

Optional Jev classification

After you save a page, Tuck may ask Jev to suggest a type. It sends the page's URL without its query string or fragment, title, site, up to 800 characters of description, and up to 900 characters of visible text through a Cloudflare Worker to TypeSafe AI's Jev service. The full saved URL and preview image URL are not sent to Jev. On pages Tuck flags as sensitive, it does not capture description or visible-text excerpts and asks before sending any remaining page details for classification. You can keep those pages on your device; they still save locally.

Saving, browsing, searching, editing, and backup/restore work without Jev. If Jev is unavailable or a usage limit is reached, the item remains in your local library for later editing or retry.

Optional related reminders

Related reminders are offered with a first-use disclosure and can be turned off in the library. They do not send page text to Jev until you choose to continue. When on, Tuck may send the active page's title, URL without query string or fragment, and up to 500 characters each of description and visible text. It may also send up to eight shortlisted saved Tucks as title, site, type, and a summary of up to 300 characters, plus up to 12 subject words drawn from those titles and summaries. Saved Tuck URLs are not sent. Tucks awaiting sensitive-page consent or kept only on your device are excluded.

Tuck skips related matching in private windows and on sensitive, messaging, personal-document, internal, and local pages. It also skips pages with a password or contenteditable field, or with a text input or textarea that is filled or focused. An empty, unfocused search box does not by itself block a reminder. Reminders for the page you already saved are matched locally and do not need Jev.

Service data and other sites

The Cloudflare Worker receives a random installation identifier and request identifier to enforce daily usage limits. Cloudflare processes the request's network address; Tuck hashes its IPv4 address or IPv6 network with a server secret before storing a daily quota count. The Worker does not store your page content or saved library. Its application logs record request identifiers, request purpose, provider usage counts, and error status without page content. Cloudflare may process network and operational data under its own policies.

TypeSafe AI processes the bounded information sent to Jev to return classification or relatedness judgments. Its privacy policy describes its handling of API input. Tuck does not sell your data or use it for advertising. It has no analytics account or tracking SDK.

When a saved item's preview image is shown, your browser may request that image from its original host. Tuck loads previews only when needed and without a referrer. That host may receive a normal image request from your browser. Previews are hidden for sensitive pages awaiting consent or kept local.

Your choices and contact

You can turn related reminders off in the library, keep flagged sensitive pages local, delete saved items, and remove the extension. There is no account from which we can recover your library if your browser data is lost. For questions or privacy requests, contact millontebry@gmail.com.
